Nicholas Pales is a Chicago based artist with a focus on costume construction and specialty prop fabrication. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Film and Television.

 

During his time at Columbia, he quickly made a name for himself as a talented Production Designer and unique props fabricator by working on numerous student and independent productions. His ability to work well with others while surpassing expectations made him one of most sought-after artists in the program. After graduating, he began using his set design and construction experience to work as a scenic carpenter at Redbox Workshop, where he was valued for his sculpting and painting skills. 

He was introduced to the world of prop making through his love for cosplay: even competing in and winning an armor-building competition. From this, he learned how to design and create wearable costume pieces with an emphasis on both appearance and functionality. Using his skills in patternmaking, foam fabrication, 3D modeling, and 3D printing, Nicholas is dedicated to effectively bringing fiction to reality.
